I expected to be tasting the &#8217;07 vintage and was surprised to receive the &#8217;09. I did not get a good explanation as to why it went from 2006 to 2009, so I went on line to check it out and it does not look like a 2007 or 2008 was produced.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8217;06 made it in my top 40 wines under twenty bucks and that was my first experience with this wine. I was curious to see if the wine maker was going to be consistent with the quality. All I can say is, another stellar effort.<\/p>\n<p>The nose on this wine is pretty amazing with floral notes, cinnamon and blackberry. The wine has some backbone to it with a solid core of acidity that is well integrated with notes of blueberry, blackberry, black currants laced with hints of tar and spice. I know the term &#8220;tar&#8221; doesn&#8217;t sound appealing but it is not a flaw and I believe you will understand what I am trying to get across when you drink it. Nice flow across the palate into a lengthy, pleasing finish. The wine is delicious now and will hold up nicely for the next 5 years but if I were you I would just drink it, especially with grilled meats. 90 points<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have been anxiously awaiting the newest release of the Boardoe.
