In the past, I have been somewhat negligent picking a Washington wine for March. Part of the reason is due to the fact that no one presented a Washington wine that actually qualified for a &#8220;Pick Of The Month.&#8221; This year I made it a point to seek one out, rather than waiting for someone to come through for me. As it happens, I was shooting a YouTube episode featuring Washington State red blends and low and behold, one of them blew my mind and came in at a very reasonable price. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/stanthewineman.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_2338-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2589\" srcset=\"http:\/\/stanthewineman.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_2338-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/stanthewineman.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_2338-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/stanthewineman.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_2338.jpg 1815w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Two Mountains Hidden Horse Red Blend No. 16 (Yakima Valley, WA)&#8230; $13.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aromas of Red flowers, fresh cut carrots, currants, tobacco and <g class=\"gr_ gr_8 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del\" id=\"8\" data-gr-id=\"8\">hits<\/g> of blueberry. Nice balance and complexity on the palate, with leather-like tannins supporting notes of currants, raspberries, blueberries <g class=\"gr_ gr_10 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"10\" data-gr-id=\"10\">and<\/g> red flower petals. A <g class=\"gr_ gr_9 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del\" id=\"9\" data-gr-id=\"9\">hit<\/g> of licorice joins up on the back of the mid-palate, leading into a finish of plums, blueberries and black raspberries that linger for some time. To get this kind of complexity for the money is ridonculous, just saying. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec <g class=\"gr_ gr_11 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"11\" data-gr-id=\"11\">and<\/g> Cabernet Franc.
